important to know the mission, the vision, and

Our Mission
Christ Community Church of
Plainfield is devoted to developing
relationships through acts of Christian
service that:
-
Communicate Biblical
values
-
Encourage commitment to
Christ
-
Inspire celebrative
worship
-
Promote ongoing
spiritual growth
-
Thereby continually
expanding the Family of God.
Our
Vision
"To draw unchurched and
previously churched people into a maturing
relationship with Jesus Christ."
Our Values
General
Everyone joining Christ
Community Church of Plainfield through
membership embraces the mission and
vision statements.
In all we do, we will
aim for excellence and trust the Holy
Spirit to provide His intended results.
Prayer
We believe:
-
prayer is not the
prelude to, but the first part of
ministry.
-
prayer should be
promoted in all aspects of life
-
our outreach and
discipleship efforts are surrounded
with intercessory prayer.
Evangelism
We believe the church's
primary and continual calling is to draw
people to Jesus Christ and then help
them mature in that relationship.
Relationships
We believe
friendships/relationships provide the
most effective and natural setting to
share one's faith and communicate the
message about Jesus Christ.
Education / Discipleship
We believe Christians
should continually be exercising their
faith and maturing.
To promote ongoing
Christian growth, each member should:
-
Attend worship
regularly
-
Participate in a
small group regularly
-
Actively pursue
opportunities to reach people for
Jesus Christ
-
Get involved in a
church ministry
-
Contribute
financially to the church
Worship
We believe that worship
should glorify God, with special
attention given to celebrating His grace
and showing people how to live and
thrive as thankful recipients of that
grace.
Worship is primarily
for the believer, but will have high
"seeker-sensitivity." Emphasis will be
placed on relevance and application in
preaching, and generally on a
contemporary and creative style, with
some traditional elements.
Reformed
We believe that
ministry should be culturally relevant
without biblical compromise.
We will promote
our Reformed theological convictions and
apply them to the current situation.
