GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior) Girls’ Club is a unique and exciting program designed to foster spiritual growth in all areas of a girl’s life. GEMS is a non-denominational program and open to all girls, grades 1-8. We meet on the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of each month from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
Girls participating in GEMS are organized into smaller groups with one leader or counselor. In the smaller groups, faith is nurtured and developed, and long lasting friendships are made. Girls learn how to apply Bible lessons to their own lives and discover answers to many challenges facing them today. We learn about Jesus through friendship, songs, games, and crafts. Girls can also earn badges and participate in community service projects.
Our theme this year is “Get Wisdom: Go beyond the Gold!” The heart of this theme is the life lesson that we must fear the LORD. When we fear God and make wise choices, we will make good decisions that protect us from sin and its consequences and keep us on the highway of the upright. Our primary focus of study will be the book of Proverbs, God’s handbook on wisdom. We will learn how to make wise choices with our words, our relationships, about integrity, about work, and with our money.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Proverbs 9:10
How much better to get wisdom than gold, to choose understanding rather than silver! The highway of the upright avoids evil; he (she) who guards his (her) way guards his (her) life. Proverbs 16:16-17

This year we will continue to support our sister club in Lusaka, Zambia, Africa. We have been encouraged by the letters we have received from the girls and counselors in Zambia.
